Late 2014, I was struggling to change my diet and lifestyle to aid my recovery from early-stage cancer. I struggled to give up my junk food because many of the “healthy” options I found were just boring and not fulfilling.

At that same time, I was working in NYC and always needed a snack to grab and go. All I can find were snack bars labeled "natural" but have long shelf lives and preservatives, filler, binding agent, sweetener and appearance enhancement: Corn Syrup, Xanthan Gum, Soy Lecithin, Glycerin, Brown Rice Syrup...just to name a few. Many health enthusiasts eat these snack bars believing they are “healthy”, but the fact is these additives provide us empty calories, if not harm.

So I started experimenting for a fresh, wholesome, delicious, interesting and convenient snack for myself, then my friends and family tasted them...and then WunderBar was born.

“Wunderbar” is “wonderful” in German. Life is wonderful. Food is wonderful. I created WunderBar believing that no one should force down nutrition like it's medicine! If a healthy wholesome snack looks and tastes just as good (or better!) than an unhealthy one, it’ll help people make better decisions.
